Warner Bros. Studios finally confirmed that a whopping 6 minute prologue of Christopher Nolan’s final installment of his Batman trilogy, THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, will premiere before the upcoming MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – GHOST PROTOCOL. That’s the good news. The bad news is that the prologue will only be featured in IMAX screens. Even worse news: it won’t be screened at every IMAX theater. The IMAX portions of the new Batman movie were shot for 70mm IMAX screens and will only be available at theaters that support that specific format. So, sorry fellow geeks and dorks who live in the outer lands outside the top 40 markets in North America. Sad faces all around, we know. (but Harrisburg, PA gets one?!?!?)
So, we’ll be seeing it! We’ll try to report on the awesomeness of it, but no doubt that there will be a rogue or two trying to film it. Here follows a list of the IMAX screens that will feature the prologue, via EW.com:
